Kansas Regional Braille Challenge

posted Dec 17, 2012, 8:02 AM by Anthony Solesky
The Kansas Sunflower Regional Braille Challenge will be held on the campus of the Kansas State School
for the Blind on February 27, 2013. Although the schedule has not been finalized, we anticipate
registration will begin at 8:30am, and awards will begin at 2:00pm.
Housing in the KSSB dormitory will be available on a first come, first serve basis for the evening of
February 26th.
Every contestant will receive a free t-shirt.  Additional shirts can be purchased for $10.00.  They can be
ordered in advance, and paid in full before, or on the date of the contest.
Please read the descriptions for each category on the registration form very carefully.  For this regional
only, students who would benefit from a below grade level test may register for the Junior category.
These contestants will not be eligible for the national contest, but they will complete a test at a
comfortable level for them, and they will be provided with the same prize money and prizes as the
other categories.  Sign up for the junior category, and then check the test level you wish your
contestant to take.
The registration deadline date is January 7, 2013.  While extensions may be necessary, we need an
accurate count before January 14, so that materials can be ordered, and we have the time to plan and
carry out the BEST Braille Challenge experience for everyone.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
