The Kansas State School for the Blind

Cost

There are no fees charged to Kansas parents for educational services at KSSB, except for a modest activity fee for field trips and yearbooks.

Regular School Year Program:

There are no fees charged to school districts for Kansas students attending KSSB during the regular school term.

Extended School Year Program (Summer Program):

The school district of each Kansas student attending the Summer Program is currently charged $500. Parents are not responsible for this fee.

Short Courses:

Fees for short courses (one-two weeks) to study specific skills vary and are charged to the student's school district.

Enrollment of Non-Kansas Students:

Out-of-state school districts may enroll students at KSSB depending upon space and other considerations. Cost varies according to the level of service required.

Transportation:

Transportation to and from KSSB is the responsibility of the sending school district. Students residing in the dormitory go home on weekends and holidays. Local arrangements can be explored for students from Far-western and Southwestern Kansas.
